Saving water

Save water; bath with a friend. Well maybe or not as you prefer, but you can still collect water, use less and reuse what you do have. "Grey" water (that is to say from all of the house's sanitation equipment except for the toilets) is fine for the garden, particularly if you use environmentally friendly detergents. Install a water butt to collect rainwater and ask for a water meter if you don't already have one. There is advice on hand for these options around the house and garden from the Thames Water and Environment Agency sites.
There are springs and wells tapping natural running water under Deddington; do they ever to dry up? But some parts of the world are already experiencing terrible, long term droughts (do you have any friends in Australia?) and we have had tasters of that experience here (remember the drought of 1976 or the water restrictions in 2003?). The need for water may become a major cause of conflict and population migration to more temperate climes like ours.
