Deddington Cricket Club was re-formed in the mid-1980s by a group of like-minded cricketers then playing for a variety of clubs in surrounding Oxfordshire villages. They felt that Deddington was big enough to support a cricket club. The original pitch was the old Windmill school pitch and from humble beginnings the club steadily grew. By the early 1990s the pitch had been moved due to house building on the original site, and Deddington CC had established itself in the Senior section of the Oxfordshire Cricket Association.

Charity No.244503. It has a constitution and rules and is run by a committee. The Club is run by and for villagers over 60 and the disabled. The club holds a meeting on the first Monday of each month from 10 am to noon at the Holly Tree in Horsefair; any parishioner aged 60 or over is welcome. Its recreational activities, including outings to the theatre and other venues for club members, are self-funded. The Holly Tree building or garden may be hired by clubs and individuals for events. All income realised in this way is used for routine maintenance and improvement of the building and garden; this is the responsibility of the club committee. Recent improvements include a new pedestrian gate on Horsefair and repair to the main gates, the refurbishment of the toilet facilities and carpeting of the club room.

FoDL is a registered charity No:1164811. Friends of Deddington Library (FoDL) group was formed in late 1997 when the village Library, like many others in Oxfordshire, was threatened with a reduction in hours and resources or even closure. Although there was a small reduction in hours, the village library remained open thanks to FoDL and others lobbying the County Council. The Friends were instrumental in the successful 2011 campaign, again to save the library from closure. They remain a strong supportive group in the work to keep the Library open and thriving.

The Society was formed in July 2006 by a group of people who were seeking a new kind of camera club, where the main focus was not on photographic competition. The ethos of the Society is to provide a forum for like-minded photographers to meet in a non-competitive environment, regardless of their technical ability or equipment, where experience and knowledge may be shared and developed through the activities of the Society. The Society's activities include photographic presentations by outside speakers, workshops by its own members, photographic visits to outside locations, an annual photographic exhibition and our own social events. Please visit the Gallery to see some of our members' photographs. We are a relatively small society, whose members live in the local area around Adderbury and Deddington. We meet regularly at 7.30pm on the first Wednesday of each month in the Apricot Room of The Cartwright Hotel, Aynho. If you are interested in joining us, then please call the Secretary or just come to one of our meetings. Everyone is welcome.
