I had no connection from 10.20 until about 14.00 and know of at least three others in Barford who had the same problem.

Did it affect Deddington or was it really local?

Cheers, Colin

I think there appears to be a recurrent problem at the exchange. Several times over the last few weeks there have been outages effecting several homes.

What I find particularly irritating is that if you go to the BT 'help'(?) desk, they always reach the conclusion that it's your router/line/computer/telephone/old socks. The last time this happened, I rang a few people and asked if they had broadband connection and they all said:
"No, I haven't, BT says it's my router."

I think we need a BB failure reporting system so that it is possible to tell if the problem is LAN or WAN.

Agreed, we should know and document how often & widespread the outages are.
If we want to check service during an outage I suppose it will have to be a mobile / text / landline system where those interested contact each other.

Otherwisw it will be a post-repair logging system for which this forum would suffice.

Any better suggestions?

Colin,
Just for the record, we've had no problems at all at our house.  Our internet is directly with BT.
