For the past year or so, we've had an intermittent problem with our analogue TV. The picture shrinks both top and bottom, leaving a viewing window of only about one half across the screen. This is bisected by a thin white line. It may simply be our ancient TV, though I have heard that other viewers served by the Oxford TV mast have had similar problems. These are caused not by the mast itself, but by atmospheric conditions. Has anyone else in Deddington been plagued by the same phenomenon?

Hi Chris, I'm no TV expert, but my only experience of the picture shrink you describe has been due to a lack of voltage to the tube. Maybe your old TV has a tube or power supply fault.

There has been, and I'm not sure if it's been fixed yet, a long term problem with the Oxford txmitter. It's been operating on ow power due to an antenna fault. Apparently a new antenna has been installed, but it has a problem coping with full power output.

Not v.helpful, but hope you get back to a proper picture soon

Hi Chris,

I've seen the same thing on an old TV.
The TV repairmain told me it was called "frame collapse" and it is a fault with your telly not the transmitter.

Best,

David
