 Dear PC,
I assume this refers to the top of Philcote Street where it joins Chapel Sq. ??  If so, then I have two  comments about the proposed action of repainting road markings  and installation of another priority  sign.

1) Actually, what is desperately needed at this "junction" is a MIRROR so that cars approaching from either the Clifton direction or the Market Place can see what is approaching from the other direction around that blind bend!!

2) A further help would be the removal of that concrete obstruction/extension into the road in front of Corner Cottage (or Corner House, or whatever it's actually called...).  It is the presence of that  concrete "thing" itself which has PINCHED that point where the road bends.  It was, in the past, always a tricky corner/ curve in the road  (being "blind") , but the placing of that  concrete"thing" there merely exacerbated the difficulty and made what was previously a dangerous curve into a monster .   The priority sign as it is at present is utterly usless because traffic approaching from the Clifton direction is usually well INTO the pinch BEFORE noticing the  oncoming "priority" driver approaching from the Market.  So the "priority" driver quite often has to jam on the brakes and wait for the non-priority driver who seems to have materialized from out of nowhere (that curve being practically blind) to pass before proceeding.

The traffic "arrangements" at that pinchpoint  as they stand at present are, if not totally brainless, certainly practically useless --AND potentially dangerous.  Pre-concrete obstruction in the road, there WERE, formerly, TWO lanes of road around that corner. (So if it was too late  for the non-priority driver to stop, there was at least passing room for the priority driver....  Now there are only 1 1/4 lanes.  Thus,  the placing of a traffic MIRROR there is of the utmost importance.
