Dear friend

I am writing to you today in the hope that you may support our direct action to foil a dastardly act against our wonderful feathered friends the now famous or some say infamous pigeons of Deddington.

Posters will shortly be available highlighting the peril our pigeons face,

Very soon we should be affiliated to the highly successful save the Trafalgar square pigeon campaign making many more resources available to us

www.savethepigeons.org

In the mean time it would be appreciated if you can forward this to as many people you feel would join us in our pigeon’s time of need

Many kind regards

Walter

I personally think the pidgeons are no more than feathered vermin.
I'm happy if they want to live in a tree, but under the town hall is not the right place.

Fantastic news
The obstructions put in place to prevent our wonderful feathered friends from loitering in the town hall have been removed and all is well in Dove Hall
Could it be our mighty Deddington parish council have had their WINGS CLIPPED ??
I wonder who by ??
Maybe a HIGHER FLYER in the village has RUFFLED SOME FEATHERS
Thanks for all the emails in support
Regards
Walter

Plans are afoot again to decimate the white doves under the Town Hall.

During World War II pigeon owners gave more than a quarter of a million pigeons to our Defence Forces and they were used most effectively to carry messages from battlefronts and to save lives from sinking ships and downed aircraft. Over 30 pigeons were awarded the Dicken Medal -the Animal VC - during that conflict.

How many of our local elite can claim such loyal service to the Country?

Is it too little to ask Deddington Charity Estates to show some sympathy towards our wild life?

Pigeons have been supported by the Royal Family for many years and the Royal Lofts at Sandringham are a testimony to this. Maybe an appeal to the palace is needed to stop the planned slaughter of the innocents in Deddington.

Isn't the Parish Council the lease holder and so responsible for the building's upkeep?

Colin
A valid comment IMHO and one that has perplexed me recently but DCE seem to be assured as to what their responsibilities are in this matter.

Many a ruffled feather I fear.

I agree with Clifton Runner. I'm not at all keen on the pigeons under the town hall.
Or make them wear nappies.
