Finally the rain has disappeared for at least awhile. Must have been the Olympic effect!

On arrival at Chipping Norton Golf Club we had direct sunshine which was a positive indicator not only for the golf but also the evening social function.

The golf course looked in great condition AND this was a view from the car park.

The golf format was 18 hole individual competition and a team competition. Following bacon rolls and coffee (some good DOGS visited the bar prior to golf) 45 DOGS and guests teed off for what proved to be a fantastic afternoon in the Cotswold countryside.

It took 1 1/2 hours to send everyone off starting at 12 mid-day with the final group going off at 1.36pm.

The final results were:

1st Tier (21hdcp & under)              2nd Tier (22 hdcp and over)

1st  Ralph Stewart  39 pts              1st  Nigel Carter  39 pts

2nd  Tony Lowe  37 pts                  2nd  Sue Oddy   37 pts

3rd  Steve Brown  35 pts                3rd  Barbara Lowe  34 pts

                                Nearest to the Pin
                                  Ralph Stewart

                                 Longest Drive
Keith Spengler (with a 3 wood!)

                                  Top Guest
                                John Saunders  32 pts

                                    1st Team 86 pts
                                    Sue Oddy
                                  Beverley Pace
                                  Ralph Stewart

                                   2nd Team 81 pts
                                    Kevin Darke
                                     Ron Colley
                                    Mark Ryland

The prize giving was held at the Pig Roast in the evening.

As darkness decends on Deddington everyone got their second wind and the party was off and running. This year we again had the pleasure of revisiting the Sue and Mike O'Briens fabulous pad in Deddington.

The pig was on the spit and the beer & wine was available for consumption. And boy was there consumption! For example, a 5 ltr box of Chablis wine disappeared in 30 minutes. Now there was a definite thurst on!

As in previous years, we asked the ladies to bring along a salad to compliment the pig and the trimmings. The salads excelled all expectations! Speechless! BIG thank you to all those that were involved.

My final tally was a circa attendence in the evening of 75+.

A great night! Thank you to Mike & Sue O'Brien for the use of their place!
