Alan Maddison, of Barford St Michael, is researching local schools for an article. In the 1944 book Country Planning, from which the film 24 Square Miles was made, there are photos of the two schools shown below.

In both the book and the film care was taken not to mention any of the villages by name and these photos are no exception. The first photo is simply captioned 'Juniors at play' while the other is just 'Built 1832'.
