The publishing of this, one of the most significant books about Deddington, is still a work in progress but meanwhile the text is available for those who wish to read it.
<<Background to book, recent republishing etc>>
In making this text available online we faced a difficult decision as to how best present it. Should we attempt to retain the original (and distinctive) typography and layout, or concentrate on making the text easily viewed in a browser and indexed by search engines, so that it is readily accessible. As the goal is ease of access, we took the route of simple presentation. We hope Mary Vane Turner would forgive us this transgression.
The text has been generated by OCR from PDFs supplied by [[_____]] using a customised recognition dictionary. Some OCR errors may remain. Punctuation has been kept as the original and reflects the usage of the time.
The book is split up below in to the original chapters.
