With its delightful honey-coloured stone houses, well-planned later developments, and attractive surrounding landscape, the parish offers a wide variety of sights and scenery.

If you visit the parish, you will soon discover the Market Place (see Deddington street map), and wandering around it you will readily appreciate the visual attraction of Old Deddington, especially its rich stonework, architecture and heritage. To see some of the best parts, we strongly recommend that you walk round the village with our Virtual Walk in your hand to guid eyou.

If you wish to walk in the local countryside the Ordnance Survey map Pathfinder 1045 is recommended. There are a number of well-signposted walks.

The Oxford canal is only just outside the parish. The Deddington to Aynho road (B4031) crosses it about 2 miles east of the Market Place. There is an excellent canal-side path (going north towards Banbury and south towards Oxford), a narrow-boat marina and a pub (the Great Western Arms) with food.
