The earliest known photograph of Deddington Market Place. The tall hats and other evidence suggest circa 1860. (Photography was only invented about 20 years before that.) The pond may be seen in the bottom right-hand corner. To make the picture discernible, a great deal of restoration has been done on it. The original print was loaned by the estate of Mrs Ivy Price.
