Private Francis (Frank) John Tarling

Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment. He was wounded in the battle for Monte Casino and reported missing but had in fact been caring for another wounded soldier. He was interned in Stalag VII/A in Germany. His brother harry was killed and is named on the war memorial. Frank married Doris Sorrell who was one of the girls from Campbell School,Beckenham, evacuated to Deddington (see pic in Evacuees folder)
