In July we said goodbye to Buffy Heywood, a longstanding supporter and contributor to the DN. She was our treasurer from September 1993 until December 2016 and kept all her records by hand – no computer spreadsheets for Buffy. In addition, she researched and wrote each month about the Revd Cotton Risley of Deddington Manor, originally under the title of The Way We Were which soon became 150 Years Ago. These were written from April 1988 until December 2018. They provided an invaluable historic record now available to anyone interested, instead of only at the Bodleian Library. We owe her quite a debt, thank you Buffy.
