About DN

July 2024 issue here

The Deddington News team was sad to hear of Les Chappell’s death in May. For more than 20 years, from September 1997 to March 2019, Les was a fixture in the DN, faithfully reporting the goings on in Hempton. The Old School Room, in particular, could not have had a stronger spokesman. Whatever else might have been going on, there would always be a plug for the Old School Room.
Now a plug for those with a bit of time on their hands and an interest in the community. The Deddington Housing Association needs fundraisers (p10), Brownies are looking for leaders (p17), the Fire Station is recruiting (p25), a couple more people are needed for the church mowing team (p9) and the hunt is on for walking footballers (p10).
Please note the Barford bridge closure (p2).
The DN will be back in September, hopefully after, at least, a taste of summer.                       CD
