Sean Callery: Christmas and the Cotswolds

Today’s Yuletide celebrations grew from a mixture of pagan customs, folklore and royal fashions.
Sean will tell us about the origins of many of our Christmas traditions, from Advent to Yule logs,
including the three Cs – Cards, Carols and Crackers.
The Deddington & District History Society exists to foster interest in the history and archaeology
of this area.
Except for the May meeting which will be in the Church, all meetings will take place in
Deddington Primary School at 7.30pm on the 2nd Thursday of the month from October to June
and all are welcome.
Membership for the season is £20 or £5.00 at the door for non-members.
